“An uninspiring person believes according to what he achieves. An inspiring person achieves according to what he believes.” Sri Chimnoy
Belief is a powerful predictor of success. Research consistently shows that those confident in their ability to make life changes are far more successful in those efforts than those who question their ability to change. Henry Ford was concise when he said: “Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you are right.”
True belief requires more than just thinking you will be successful. You need to feel you will be successful on an emotional level, believing with your gut as well as your head. You also need the confidence that comes from prior success and action; you need the confidence of someone who has done it before and knows they can do it again.
There are many tools to help one develop self-confidence and belief. I recommend reading positive thinking books to gain insights into how successful people think. The best way, in my opinion to develop true self-confidence is to try new things. Take on new challenges and when you have success in these new endeavors you will feel more confident. You cannot develop a belief in yourself if you do not step outside of your comfort zone once in awhile.
